Exeter Area MG Owners Club Data Protection Policy

General Data Protection Regulation Compliance May 2018
The information you have provided to register your membership with the Exeter Area MG Owners Club includes your name, postal address, telephone numbers and email address and is called ‘your data’. This will be used by the Club for purposes only in connection with the legitimate running of the club and to provide the benefits of membership to you, which includes communicating by post, telephone (including texts) and email.
Your data will never be disclosed to third parties, nor will it be shared with other members without your consent. Apart from the Home page and the Moor 2 Sea section, our website is accessible only to members of the club, using a regularly changed password. This ensures that no personal data is available on the ‘open’ web. This means that the Newsletter and the Events sections of the website can only be seen by members on the website, because of the amount of personal data in these sections. The Newsletter will continue to be sent to all members by email.
Your data is stored on a computer, held securely by the Area Secretary and the Membership Secretary and your email addresses only are held on a computer by the Editor. The computer file and ledger are controlled by the Secretary of the club. At the time of a change of these Committee members your data will be transferred to the new Committee members and deleted from the files of the outgoing members.
Your data can be removed from our stored records within 28 days of a written request to the Secretary, but please remember that this means the Club will no longer be able to communicate with you. You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe there is a problem with the Club’s handling of your data but the Club would always appreciate prior notice of this.
